Anu Puri

Anu Puri is the Founder and Director of Climate Financing, Technology and Innovations at Climate-R Foundation. A global practitioner with nearly two decades of experience, she works at the intersection of humanitarian governance, disaster risk reduction, climate resilience and systems transformation.

Through roles with UNICEF, the World Health Organization, Johns Hopkins University, and the International Federation of Red Cross and Red Crescent Societies, Anu has contributed across Asia, Africa and Europe. She combines operational leadership with systems-level design in complex settings, including conflict, public-health emergencies, climate-related shocks and protracted crises.

Anu specialises in accountability governance, programme strategy, community engagement and digital transformation. Her work embeds trust, participation and responsiveness within public and humanitarian systems. She has designed and scaled citizen-centric platforms, developed global and regional strategic guidance, and supported real-time accountability mechanisms during emergency responses. She also contributes to pandemic preparedness by strengthening vaccine confidence and uptake, linking behavioural insights and community engagement with service-delivery.

At Climate-R Foundation, Anu advances innovative climate-financing solutions, sustainability systems and climate resilience through multi-stakeholder partnerships. She has received advanced training from IIM Kozhikode and LSE and is pursuing the Advanced Management Programme in Public Policy at the Indian School of Business.

Led the design and scale-up of this innovative and citizen-centric platform.

2. Jankiya Pangalitum Purvnirmanam Initiative, Kerala

Contributed to the design and advancement of the initiative in partnership with the Government of Kerala.

3. Child-Designed Feedback Systems, Eastern Europe

Led the development and integration of child-designed feedback systems into national education frameworks across Eastern Europe.

4. Real-Time Accountability Systems—Türkiye Earthquake Response

Played a key role in operationalising real-time accountability systems during the earthquake response in Gaziantep, Türkiye.

5. Community Engagement in Humanitarian Action Toolkit

Led the development of global strategic guidance for humanitarian preparedness and response.

6. UNICEF Europe and Central Asia Regional Accountability Strategy

Led the development of the regional strategy, Leaving No One Behind.

7. Accountability Framework for Municipalities

Co-authored the accountability framework.

8. Vaccine Confidence and Pandemic Preparedness

Supports vaccine confidence, uptake and community engagement by connecting behavioural insights with system delivery.
